Will I have to throw all my stuff away?
No!
You always have the final say. We will, however, be very selective (and sometimes aggressive) throughout the sorting process. This can be quite an emotional time for many people, especially those who are sentimentally attached to their things. We will work through the hard decisions together and figure out what is best for you, your family, and the space you desire.
What is the process we’ll go through?
An initial evaluation is the beginning, and this is FREE! We will put together a plan for your space that is within the budget you set. If you are ready to proceed, we will jump right in to the sorting process where we decide what will stay, be donated, sold, or trashed. If needed, cosmetic work will be done after the sorting. Then everything that stays will be put into its proper place. Depending on the project, this could take hours, days, or weeks.
How much work will I be expected to contribute?
The beauty of a timely result is teamwork. We will work side-by-side with you, especially during the sorting process. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, you may just need some simple coaching. If you are intimidated by the whole idea, we will be right beside you. You are the only one who truly knows what needs to stay and what needs to go, so we do ask that you participate as much as possible. This also helps you learn how your space got out of control in the first place and how to keep it organized when we are done!
How long will it take to get my space organized?
There are many variables to consider for this question. How disorganized is your space? How big is your space? How much are you willing to let go of? Possibly the most determining factor is how quickly can you make decisions? We have organized several garages, all in different amounts of time. One garage took one week, another took 4 weeks, yet another took 3 days. The differences came with the homeowners’ participation and the amount of “stuff” going back into the garages.
Once my space is organized, how do I know that it will stay that way? In other words, will I just be wasting my money?
Getting organized is a conscious choice. Staying organized starts out as a conscious choice, but soon turns into habit. Also, finding out your personal organizing style is key. What works for me may not work for you. So, we put in systems that work for your way of living and working. We have discovered that once a client sees the outcome of all the hard work, going back to the old ways of life are out of the question. Once your space looks and, more importantly, FEELS peaceful and orderly, you are more likely to keep it that way.
